A letter from a Party branch secretary:

I have a friend, work in the unit outstanding performance, is very optimistic, very popular. Recently he confided to me, said he unit party organization to talk to him, hope he can actively draw closer to the party organization. He was hesitant and confused. He sees no connection between working and joining the party and can't think why he should join the Communist Party of China. In fact, my friend's confusion is shared by many people around me, and even some Party members cannot explain their original motives for joining the Party. How can we give them an answer to this question?

Clear the doubt

Why join the Communist Party of China? Whether before or after joining the Party, it is important to understand your "original intention".

The motivation to join the Party is the intrinsic reason and real purpose of a person's request to join the Party. In the investigation of Party membership, the party organization always regards correcting the motivation of Party membership as the most basic requirement for the comrades applying for Party membership. In the work of developing party members, it also attaches great importance to the investigation of the motivation of comrades applying for Party membership, taking it as an important link and measure to ensure the quality of new party members in the ruling party. Those whose motives for joining the Party are not pure must not be promoted to join the Party.

Why does our Party attach so much importance to a person's "original intention" to join the Party? This is because:

First of all, correct the motivation of joining the Party is the ideological premise of correct action for joining the Party. Only by correcting the motivation of joining the Party, can we have the correct action to join the Party, have the lasting motivation, and correctly understand and deal with the problems and difficulties encountered in the process of joining the Party.

Secondly, correct the motivation of joining the Party is an important guarantee to withstand various tests. With the gradual establishment of the socialist market economic system, the Communists in the new era face new challenges in adhering to the essence of the working class party. In the reform and opening up and the development of the socialist market economy today, although there are not many tests of life and death, but a variety of tests related to fame, status, money, pleasure, corruption and so on have been highlighted. Only by establishing the correct motivation to join the Party can we pass the "utilitarian pass" and withstand various tests and challenges.

Finally, correcting the motivation of joining the Party is a powerful motivation for joining the Party ideologically. Ideological party building is a great creation of the Communist Party of China. The emphasis on ideological membership means that no matter what the circumstances, always adhere to the purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly, always firm in the Communist belief, and strive for it all one's life. And whether we can really join the Party in ideology largely depends on whether we have the right motivation to join the Party. With the correct motivation to join the Party, there will be a strong ideological motivation to join the Party, will always be strict with the standards of Party members in the actual action, do a qualified Communist Party member.

In reality, some comrades have the mentality of "following the crowd" when applying for Party membership, thinking that everyone requires to join the Party, compared with their own conditions is not bad, "following the crowd" also submitted the application to the Party organization, and the motivation of joining the Party has great blindness. Some people apply for Party membership with a strong utilitarian intention, not because they believe in Marxism or are committed to the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics and communism. Instead, they believe that joining the Party or becoming a cadre can bring benefits to them, and they take joining the Party or becoming a cadre as political capital to gain benefits for themselves, their families or relatives.

All these show that the motive of joining the Party is not correct, the essence is the belief out of the problem. Belief is people's choice and holding of outlook on life, values and world outlook. The Party Constitution clearly stipulates that the highest ideal and ultimate goal of the Communist Party of China is to realize communism. Firm communist belief is the primary condition to be a qualified Communist Party member. Only by establishing firm communist belief and setting up lofty Communist ideals can we have the right direction and goals, maintain the tenacious revolutionary will and strive for the cause of the Party for life.

Why join the Party? This is a heart-shaking topic, we need to think carefully, to answer, that is, we must "think twice" before acting - first, we must have the idea that "joining the Party itself is purifying the mind". The purity of the Communist Party of China requires that members should not have any selfish thoughts and should not join the Party with utilitarian desire and hypocritical heart. Second, we should realize that "joining the Party itself means entering a new realm of thought". It should be noted that "Party member" is a political term, and must always maintain a high degree of consistency with the CPC Central Committee in thought and words, and must accept strict discipline and rules. Third, we should realize that joining the Party itself means dedication and dedication. "Putting the concerns of the masses before the joys of the masses" should be the minimum character of every Communist Party member, and it is a basic requirement for a qualified party member to be indifferent to personal gains and losses.

Only by understanding their "original intention" can they be qualified to make an "oath" to the Party, and only consciously, sincerely and wholeheartedly strive for the cause of the Party and the people for life.

Xu Chuan: Why did I join the Chinese Communist Party?

During this year's May Day holiday, Xu Chuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Energy and Power of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, became quite popular in wechat moments. His personal wechat official account "Nanhang Xuchuan" sent a post titled "Why do I join the Communist Party of China?" "Was forwarded by People's Daily, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and other official wechat accounts. The reading volume soon exceeded 100,000. It was also republished by more than 300 public accounts such as All-China Students' Federation and Party Building Toutiao, causing widespread concern and hot discussion among young people.

In the article, Xu starts with the students' motivation to join the Party. "When talking about the motivation of joining the Party, many students are full of conventional words, often 'grandpa told me from childhood'. Or, my grandfather told me when I was young, I should not forget the well builder when drawing water. Or, my grandfather taught me that without the Communist Party, there would be no new China; Or, my grandfather told me that I was born under the red flag and grew up in New China. I had a deep suspicion that we all had the same grandfather... I never said that, and I never asked my grandfather to speak out. Because I haven't seen my grandfather."

In fact, it was Bi Keyou, the party secretary of the School of Foreign Languages when Xu was a university student, rather than his family, who made him firmly believe in joining the Party. Bi Keyou surprised many people by not giving his niece the green light during the interview for admission to graduate school. "When one's own interests conflict with the interests of others, a party member is supposed to make sacrifices and concessions, otherwise why should you be a party member? When you join the Party, you take an oath and you have to pay it at any time. You do not join the party to gain more benefits for yourself." Bi Keyou's words deeply touched Xu's heart, "I thought at that time, I want to be with such a person. So, I decided to join the Chinese Communist Party."

Later, after experiencing some growing pains and setbacks, Xu realized that the answer to why he wanted to join the party could only be one word -- faith. "We cannot build up our feelings and affection for the Party without going through hard times. So, we have to look back, we have to think carefully, we have to walk slowly... The future of the party is also easy to judge. We have seen a lot in the last year or two. Everyone can see the "fight tigers and swatting flies" and the "strict governance of the Party". Everyone can see the "eight rules", see the "three stricts and three honests"; Everyone can see the 'mass line' and the 'two studies and one action'; More and more specific, more and more rigorous, more and more normal, that's the trend."

The book Why Did I Join the Communist Party of China? ", and reply to students' questions uniformly. "It gives them a sense of identity," Xu said. "They try to understand from the bottom of their hearts what the Party is, what Communists believe in and why they want to join the Party.
